I Slept

Last night I slept without the help of meds. It is the first time in a few weeks that I have had a full nights sleep without sleep aids of some sort. Thank you for praying for me and please keep doing so.

Hey Amy...I love keeping up with ya'll on your blog...thanks for being so real and honest about your life. I saw where you've been dealing with the depression and sleep issues. Last year i went through a very similiar season. I had a doctor put me on an antidepressant, but my sleep issues got SO much worse after i was on that particular medicine. The name of it was welbutrin (sp?) after about 3 or 4 months, i finally switched to another medicine (a dep and anxiety med) and eventually, i felt ALOT better and my sleep issues got way better. I found out later that a huge side effect to the 1st dep med i was on was INSOMNIA....nice. ANyways, just wanted to throw that out there....didn't know if you maybe can check about the side effects of the current med you are taking. Praying for you friend...love ya

Hi there, Amy! I'm so glad you stopped by my blog and that you felt comfortable posting a comment. The first time I struggled with depression I wasn't open about it...and have felt this last time around God pressing on my heart to share...and to be able to encourage others along the same path. I did want to mention that several meds I tried kept me awake too! (wellbutrin being one of them!)I have always struggled with insomnia, though. I have had 3 docs tell me it is ok to take benadryl or tylenol PM each night...and I have been for a few years now. It actually has been better for me than the prescription sleep meds which really messed me up!! All this to say, hang in there!! Everyone's bodies are so different and it takes time finding exactly what will work for you. Now I am on lexapro and it seems to be the best one for me. God has taught me so much about Himself and drawn me so much closer to Him through these hard days...I pray He will do the same for you!!

Glad you got some sleep. My mom told me to take natural melatonin to help sleep- never tried it though. Would love an update on the diet- I'm living vicariously through you, you know.
